  • Amazing experience, like nothing I've ever done before! I don't want to give too much away because it took my breath away. Definitely go. The only reason it isn't 5 stars is because it is a reasonably...  more »
  • I came across this place via Trip Advisor and the reviews sum it up well. It was an interesting and a little bit eerie an experience. My four year old got a bit scared in the dark, though I found it a...  more »
  • We liked to be here really. The cistern is great illuminated and there are probably also always different exhibitions. We were on a hot summer day and the coolness of even very enjoyed :) Best take a good Fotoaperat with a tripod if you want to take pictures, because it's very dark there, and you need a high shutter speed.

  • The location is what really makes this contemporary art gallery stand out. It's situated inside old underground water reservoirs so it works as a historic monument in the same time. And the surrounding park also invites for a walk before or after to enjoy nature as well
  • Visited during the light exhibition. It was really amazing. Worth a visit
  • Was expecting much more. The dark tunnel you enter through peaks your curiosity but then it's a massive let down. There isn't much information given about what's down there. If your doing it with your copenhagen pass then fine but I wouldn't pay especially for this
  • Darkness sharpens your senses. Smell of ceder, sound of steps, humidity, chill. Then shapes are formed from the shadows. A boat? A shrine? A lantern leads your way to an image from the outer world. Open you senses and be blessed.
  • No information and very poor lighting. Big let down! Could be much improved very easily.

Where to stay in Copenhagen

Most of the hotels in Copenhagen are located in the central Vesterbro or hip Indre By areas, though there are many more adventurous (and somewhat more affordable) places to stay during your vacation. As in the rest of Denmark, accommodations in Copenhagen are quite expensive. If you're traveling on a tight budget, consider camping along the Mølleå River or staying in one of the city's many backpacker hostels. If you prefer an inexpensive hotel, explore options in the Helgolandsgade and Colbjørnsensgade neighborhoods. For a taste of Denmark's art scene, head to the up-and-coming Kongens Nytorv and Nyhavn areas. Travelers who like to stay outside of the main tourist areas should set their sights on one of the city's suburbs, like the northern section where you can stay at a beachfront hotel or on a houseboat.
