Overall I'm not too enthusiastic about this museum. Some stuff is definitely interesting and worth seeing, such as a huge dinosaur bone or extinct animal's skeletons but there is also something on dis...  more »

I really liked it! Not too big, about 2-2.5 hours you can walk, but you can't get bored. Interesting and spectacular. We can only recommend to everyone who is a little too interested in the animal world.

Excellent exhibition, fun for adults and children. Very interesting specimens on display. Expect to spend at least 2 hours if you want to get a nice overview of most things. You could easily spend a whole day.

A very well done natural history exhibition. Great for kids as there is a hands-on approach to almost everything. Highly recommended.

We spent about 2 to 3 hours in this very nice museum and it seemed like we saw almost everything there during this period of time. It's definitely not the biggest museum but it offers a good and well arranged selection of exhibits. Therefore it also wasn't exhausting as there was no need to rush through in order to try to come by everything at least. The exhibition is arranged over two floors. In the lower floor almost everything is described in Danish and English. Unfortunately this isn't the case for the upper floor. There some exhibits are only described in Danish, so you may not get that much out of it in case you don't speak the language. Overall it still provides an amazing experience, especially on a rainy day.

Great museum! I highly recommend the night-tour that they apparently do during winter holidays!

Where to stay in Copenhagen

Most of the hotels in Copenhagen are located in the central Vesterbro or hip Indre By areas, though there are many more adventurous (and somewhat more affordable) places to stay during your vacation. As in the rest of Denmark, accommodations in Copenhagen are quite expensive. If you're traveling on a tight budget, consider camping along the Mølleå River or staying in one of the city's many backpacker hostels. If you prefer an inexpensive hotel, explore options in the Helgolandsgade and Colbjørnsensgade neighborhoods. For a taste of Denmark's art scene, head to the up-and-coming Kongens Nytorv and Nyhavn areas. Travelers who like to stay outside of the main tourist areas should set their sights on one of the city's suburbs, like the northern section where you can stay at a beachfront hotel or on a houseboat.
