  • I took my two children (10 and 14) to this museum to get a different experience in our own town. We certainly did experience a lot about the working people and the developmen over time. We will certai...  more »
  • This Museum focuses on the social class the bottom - workers, their living conditions in a Denmark at the end of the 19th century and until 1960 about. There are changing exhibitions but also two permanent parts. ERT the Museum for children with a grocery store, a small apartment with rooms - children will be able to go all - play trade, dressing up or sit in a school of the model of their grandparents. The other part tells the evolution of some trades - the Museum is closely related to some unions of course; but no political party is taken - unless we can consider that Office is not conservative ler. So the posters are for workers and their rights. There are also parts where you see the furniture of the houses of the time. I was there with my 77 year old mother who see each other both home child but also with his grandparents - a moving visit. I'm not sure that everything is explained very well in french - but some things have nor need it be spread. The atmosphere is - also in the little café that serves as the products of the time after the war. A nice visit and especially with children!

  • We had the pleasure of having our three grandchildren on 2 x 8 and 12 years of age with on a pedagogical well-constructed and designed museum-where there was also a dedicated children's museum. It was a fantastic journey in the history of the labour movement from Louis Pio to the present day. To see how the workers have had to fight for their rights-labor disputes, work environment, etc. The poor housing, where large families lived in squalid 1 and 2 bedroom apartments-the deplorable sanitary conditions-it's got one of our grandchildren to spontaneously to exclaim: "Well I wasn't a child the time!" A visit to the "maketenderiet" can also highly recommended-a star Lager and coffee with Rich mixture was consumed by adults. Pilsneren can be highly recommended, whereas the Lady frowned on the nose of the coffee mixture.

  • A surprisingly delightful museum. More than just labour, it steps back without nostalgia to Copenhagen's past and offers historical 'settings' to experience. Engaging and knowledgeable guides, and entertaining hands-on exhibits.
  • Wonderful little museum with lots of objects of the workers' everyday life and labour union in Denmark. English text sheet available, the important descriptions are translated as well. Nice staff. Taste the post war area coffee with chicory at the 1950ies Café!
  • Great place to visit, the assembly hall will transport you back to the 1940s. This museum will help you feel what life was like in post war Denmark.
  • This is a nice museum to visit. There is a lot of information in English. There are plenty of original items in the museum. Information does not overwhelm which is nice. If visiting in the winter it might be wise to keep your jacket on. Very nice souvenir shop.
  • Love it
