Theme Park Water / Amusement Park
Set some time aside for fun and games at Tivoli Gardens, the second-oldest amusement park in the world. Established in 1843, the park sits in the heart of the city and offers not only traditional amusement rides and carnival games, but also flower gardens, food pavilions, and open-air shows. The most-visited amusement park in Scandinavia, this large venue attracts the majority of its visitors after dusk, when the lights come on and the area becomes one big stage for a range of cultural activities. Be sure to try a few roller coaster rides, but leave plenty of time for a show at the park's world-famous pantomime theater, built in the 1870s by celebrated architect Vilhelm Dahlerup. Put Tivoli Gardens and other Copenhagen attractions into our Copenhagen itinerary builder, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • So much more than I expected! Very clean, well maintained and most importantly, great design. The rides are much better than typical amusement parks with very creative use of colors and lights. Restaurants are expensive but exceptional in food quality, service and comfort. The best time to visit is later in the afternoon through evening so you can see how the gardens transform from daylight to night with lighting. Highly recommended!
  • Such a great atmosphere for young and old. Not cheap but it's definitely quality, flexible pricing allowed us to purchase unlimited rides with either adult for our daughter. A huge amount on offer, even though it was busy there was plenty of space to walk about without being pushed around. Loved the refill slushy station and the range of places to eat. We tried out Prices Diner and the fried chicken was amazing!
  • This place is incredible. If you have the stamina and enjoy rides you could easily while away a whole day here. There's a huge variety of rides to do, lots of places to eat, live music, a light show (and fireworks sometimes) that will keep you busy for a long time. Some of the rides are not for the faint hearted but the plenty for even the most timid of people. It's lovely just to walk around and look at the lights. Have a look for the fir pits which you can toast marshmallows over! A must do!
  • This place is cool even for adults and those who don't like rides. You can get passes for rides, otherwise there is a small fee at the entrance, but you can pay for single games and rides inside. You can see all sorts of neat stuff just walking around. The aquarium is neat, but very short (one room). This place is definitely worth exploring!
  • I would give five stars, if Tivoli wasn't so god d... expensive. But if you're a tourist in Copenhagen though, you cannot miss this one. The gardens (which inspired W. Disney to build Disneyland) are so beautiful, on a summer evening with a million lights illuminating, it is like a fairytale. Once heard Tony Bennett sing there, and he said: "I cannot think of a better place to sing, than in this beautiful garden in this wonderful city". I guess he is right. The drives are alright, but seen better many other places. The food is everything from fast food to 1.st class gourmet restaurants. Go there because Tivoli is The Real Deal that all other amusement parks are made after and because it is super good, clean family entertainment, you can trust. Expect to spend a million Dollars.
