Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen
(4.1/5 based on 14,000+ reviews on the web)
Set some time aside for fun and games at Tivoli Gardens, the second-oldest amusement park in the world. Established in 1843, the park sits in the heart of the city and offers not only traditional amusement rides and carnival games, but also flower gardens, food pavilions, and open-air shows. The most-visited amusement park in Scandinavia, this large venue attracts the majority of its visitors after dusk, when the lights come on and the area becomes one big stage for a range of cultural activities. Be sure to try a few roller coaster rides, but leave plenty of time for a show at the park's world-famous pantomime theater, built in the 1870s by celebrated architect Vilhelm Dahlerup. Put Tivoli Gardens and other Copenhagen attractions into our Copenhagen itinerary builder, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • Entrance to Tivoli Park is located next to the Town Hall at the Town Hall square. Its central building complements the red-brick ensemble of the square. Since visiting this park assumes the presence of a large amount of time for us, he spent only one day in Copenhagen, was not available. Only managed to edge his eyes see and point out to the necessity of its visits in next time ...

  • Was expecting more from Tivoli. Had read that the lights were fantastic at nighttime but can't say I was very impressed, even by the special light show that was on for the season. Food we had was pretty mediocre too, far far better restaurants available in town at lower costs. So unless you're really wanting to go for the rides I wouldn't bother
  • MUST GO peculiar amusement park / pleasure garden! Attractions: Opened in 1843 and is the second-oldest operating amusement park in the world! The rides may not be the most modern but be mindful that the themes and attractions have been over 170 years and to this day still stands as a popular destination! Key Takeaway: Walt Disney came here and become inspired to start and opened Disneyland! This is the birthplace of imagination, how can you not visit it? Visited August 2016.
  • A magical little amusement park that appeals to both young and old. Now and again you find yourself in a world reminiscent of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory.. quirky and playful. Elements of Danish design make this place cool and interesting to those with an eye for detail. Amazing that so much fits in the space of a downtown city block.
  • At night, a combination of fairy lights and a Willy Wonka amusement park. Great fun to walk around enjoying the sights and summer garden, or scare yourself silly in the rides. Lots of dining options too from restaurants to takeaway. If you're in Copenhagen, don't miss it.
  • The famous and lovely park in Copenhagen Nice attractions and good organizations. Entrance ticket including the use of attractions is VERY expensive, but it is an experience worth living at least once. There is a year subscription for the price of 3 ticket otherwise. I do not really suggest many of the restaurants inside, they are really expensive and I have not been satisfied with the quality of food.
