Set some time aside for fun and games at Tivoli Gardens, the second-oldest amusement park in the world. Established in 1843, the park sits in the heart of the city and offers not only traditional amusement rides and carnival games, but also flower gardens, food pavilions, and open-air shows. The most-visited amusement park in Scandinavia, this large venue attracts the majority of its visitors after dusk, when the lights come on and the area becomes one big stage for a range of cultural activities. Be sure to try a few roller coaster rides, but leave plenty of time for a show at the park's world-famous pantomime theater, built in the 1870s by celebrated architect Vilhelm Dahlerup. Put Tivoli Gardens and other Copenhagen attractions into our Copenhagen itinerary builder, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • Don't come here expecting the rides to be comparable to Canada's wonderland or any major American theme park. It's a charming old style theme park with not as many rides, they are mostly small, many wooden. But they are ornate and very cool looking. Peacocks wander the grounds, weird rabbit/ roomba robot mows the lawn. Lots of free concerts and shows. Beautiful gardens, cute walks to go on. Lots of places for younger children to play. A great place to wander with a date. Teens may find it boring but ages above and below would enjoy it's charm. If you plan to ride many rides, get their unlimited ride band to save money.
  • A nice amusement park with some really thrilling rides. The demon and star flyer are a must. Star flyer is best at night with full view of Copenhagen. The roller coaster built in 1914 is a fun ride with a hint of thrill and excitement. Cup collection points after use is a very nice environmental initiative by Tivoli gardens.
  • Even if your not a thrill seeker this is a lovely place to walk around. If you are a thrill seeker the rides and views in this city park are amazing. Its such a surprise at just how much they can get in here.
  • This place is tons of fun whether you have kids in tow or not. Essentially an amusement Park but with lots of things to do even if you're not under 10 years old. Lots of restaurants, nice places to walk, roller coasters, rides, peacocks and many more things. The food I'm the restaurants is not exactly but not expensive for Copenhagen either. Highly recommended!
  • Great afternoon out! You pay entrance fee to the gardens and then if you wish to go on any rides or attractions you buy 'ride tickets' from the machines. Each ride states how many tickets you need. Rides comprise of a roller-coasters and spinning, swinging & twisting rides of all shapes and sizes. Some for small children and others only for larger kids. The gardens have different themes and are landscaped together with themes buildings. The Chinese garden with pagoda was nice to walk through. Dotted around the gardens are restaurants offering beers and good food. The runaway train ride at the entrance near the main Copenhagen railway station was great!
