The Hirschsprung Collection, Copenhagen

(4.7/5 based on 190+ reviews on the web)
Experience the history of Danish art at one of Copenhagen's "Park Museums," The Hirschsprung Collection. The museum is based mostly around the personal art collection of Heinrich Hirschsprung, who donated his collection to Denmark in 1902. Most of the art comes from the 19th and 20th centuries, with famous works by Kobke, Kroyer, and Eckersberg. You'll progress through the Danish art periods, from the Golden Age to the Modern Breakthrough. The collection is housed in a small neoclassical building, which adds to the museum's atmosphere.
