Oresund Bridge, Copenhagen

4.3
Drive or take a bus ride across Oresund Bridge, the longest cable-tied road and rail bridge in Europe. Spanning about 8 km (5 mi), the structure runs from the Swedish coast to an artificial island in the middle of the Oresund Sound. An underwater tunnel completes the crossing to the other side of the sound, linking the metropolitan areas of Copenhagen and Malmo. The bridge consists of two railway tracks and four road lines supported by tall concrete towers that allow 57 m (187 ft) of headroom for ships passing beneath the structure. Avoid long delays on the bridge by checking current traffic and weather conditions before you hit the road. Smooth overpass between Sweden and Denmark-either by car or train. If you go over with the car more than once a year, it is worth to join the Brobizz-agreement. On the trains, it is also possible to go over the bike. Unfortunately, there is no cycle tracks on the bridge.

The Oresund Bridge is an impressive piece of engineering. Recommend view from the airplane, to appreciate it as complete (as it appears from the sea and rises). Cross it, it is romantic and allows to visit Malmo, but it fails to measure all the bridge

It is true that it is a wonder of bridge/tunnel and you freak out thinking with as they have done, but 410 DKK for once is friendly! €120 round-trip from Denmark to Sweden... got much cheaper train, but not what we knew

The best bridge in the world. I love it so much I go over it more than twice a month. Some people even go see it every day. It is so popular some politicians die to get the Malmö and Copenhagen police to work together.

If I could give it 10 stars, I would! It's the most unique bridge I've ever seen, and a must-see for anyone travelling between Copenhagen and Malmo.

An amasing construction, very impressive, both via car and rail.

nice view, the toll by car is 50€ (april2017) to cross in one way, and 50€ for come back (the only have one way ticket), too mutch imo. Coming from Danimak to Sweden theres a sort of custom and they ask for ID, coming from Sweden theres no one. Enjoy

One of the longest and prettiest bridges Ive ever crossed . There is even a nice spot on the side closer to Copenhagen where you can stop and take some nice photos

Where to stay in Copenhagen

Most of the hotels in Copenhagen are located in the central Vesterbro or hip Indre By areas, though there are many more adventurous (and somewhat more affordable) places to stay during your vacation. As in the rest of Denmark, accommodations in Copenhagen are quite expensive. If you're traveling on a tight budget, consider camping along the Mølleå River or staying in one of the city's many backpacker hostels. If you prefer an inexpensive hotel, explore options in the Helgolandsgade and Colbjørnsensgade neighborhoods. For a taste of Denmark's art scene, head to the up-and-coming Kongens Nytorv and Nyhavn areas. Travelers who like to stay outside of the main tourist areas should set their sights on one of the city's suburbs, like the northern section where you can stay at a beachfront hotel or on a houseboat.
