Oresund Bridge, Copenhagen

4.3
Drive or take a bus ride across Oresund Bridge, the longest cable-tied road and rail bridge in Europe. Spanning about 8 km (5 mi), the structure runs from the Swedish coast to an artificial island in the middle of the Oresund Sound. An underwater tunnel completes the crossing to the other side of the sound, linking the metropolitan areas of Copenhagen and Malmo. The bridge consists of two railway tracks and four road lines supported by tall concrete towers that allow 57 m (187 ft) of headroom for ships passing beneath the structure. Avoid long delays on the bridge by checking current traffic and weather conditions before you hit the road. • We went by train from Copenhagen to Malmö across the bridge or better perhaps under the bridge. The train namely under the roadway of the cars. I personally found it really great. For me, it was worth an experience.

  • I can review this bridge from a position of somebody that passed it on a train that guess under the bridge. You still have some view, but it's probably not as good as from the top of the bridge. In general the whole construction is pretty impressive. It also does what it should do and that is to get you from Copenhagen to Malmö.
  • This safe way between Malmo and Copenhague can be use how motorway and train.
  • Fabulous engineering. Incredible building. Most over the sea, connects Malmo and Copenhagen. It consists of a bridge of 7.5km, works over an island of 4km and a tunnel of 4.5km. The height is 209m, has two tracks for the train as well as 4 car straps. In construction invested 7 billion euros. It looks impressive.
  • Very expensive but convenient and tolls were quick to pass
  • Bien. Well. No magnific, but ... you know.
