  • The amber Museum is very small but interesting. On two levels you can enjoy different types of amber embedded in animals or unusual things that have arisen from it. Overall, I recommend though I expected something greater.

  • Doesn't take much time and the museum is located on two floors over the shop which is filled with very tempting jewellery pieces. I didn't realise that amber is formed from tree resin until visiting h...  more »
  • Cheap 25kr(3€) this museum is small and fast to do. It may be interesting if you love amber or stones (if not more). It is located on the floor of the shop of amber at the beginning of nyavn. One-piece watch the different stones, another watch of stones trapping insects dating back thousands of year and finally another shows objects made in amber.

  • It´s a tiny, but very interesting museum! There were some opening days with free entrance in February and we had the chance to see the massive collection of amber they have. It was great to observe how many insects were trapped in amber!
  • Small but interesting museum on the top two floors of a beautifully historic building. There is a room of amber "inclusions" containing magnified plants and insect trapped in amber. There is also science about amber formation and a room of treasures made of the same. Fun for a short visit while checking out Nyhavn. If you want to bring some home, the shop below has jewelry in all price ranges.
  • Small but impressive collection of amber, including the world's largest piece of amber. Aside from regular amber pieces they also have a beautiful collection of objects shaped from amber. Especially the amber with captured insects is fascinating!
  • Lady asked me: where are you from? My answer was: from Latvia. And the reason to visit, was to see the big piece of amber upstairs. But here are a lot of other interesting things to see. The coolest jewellery with amber I have ever seen!
  • A 2-room museum about amber. The world biggest and the biggest amber found in Denmark can be found inside. Below the museum is a shop for amber.
