  • No I did not: the time to see them, these small boats on the rivers and canals, with their users now feasting, drinking or eating while walking on their own, time to look on the computer where, when and how much, and to realize that it was wrong for no doubt such a pleasure , and it was too late, time to leave Copenhagen in being merely a collective boat... Too bad... But I am sure to do from my next and some coming in this beautiful city!

  • We booked a boat ride for my birthday and it started raining considerably (with lightning and strong wind) one hour before our scheduled boat rental time. I tried calling but no one picked up the phon...  more »

  • You don't want to be crammed with dozens of other passengers in a crowded tourist boat, but you still want to explore the waters of Copenhagen? Then it makes good sense for you to rent your own boat. The boat can hold up to 8 people and it doesn't take a license to drive the electric boats as it's very simple and straight forward. Since it's electric, it doesn't make any sound either and runs very smoothly. Bring your picnic basket ready because there's no other way to explore Copenhagen than eating on the boat, or just have the drinks. Minimum recommended time is 2 hours, and that's what we booked, but we could have used more! If you have family or friends visiting in Copenhagen, rent a boat instead!
  • Great little fairly new boats with a Torquedo electric engine. We followed the complete itinerary recommended by he staff and it was a great trip. We stayed longer than we had originally expected but got the 30 min extra for free "because it was windy". Highly recommended if you visit Copenhagen.
  • Excellent way to get a first view on købnhavn. It is extremely simple. We where a little afraid because we had no experiences with motorboats at all, but it is soo simple and you get good instructions by the very friendly service personal. We got hints about the tour we should do and about actual specialties of the canals. Getting in and out the boat is a little sporty but you are supported by the personal, so one of us with hip diseases had no problem to get on and off the boat. So we where absolute beginners and had a great trip. The motor is electric so it is very silent. You drive slowly and relaxed on the water. It is such a good impression. If you want you can leave the boat for a picnic near the water. I would recommend at least 2 hours better 3. Only 4 stars because it is not the cheapest way to see the city and on days with good weather you should already book a boat upfront at home.
  • Fun way to tour the canals while having fun navigating and driving your own boat without any help. Make sure you bundle up or chose a warm wind-free day. Bring snacks, food and drinks to enhance your experience.
  • Really easy booking system online. They have an app coming soon also. Helpful and easy orientation. A spacious boat with a big picnic table on it. They sell sodas and a small snack selection but be sure to bring a picnic lunch to get the most out of it. Very easy to drive the boat even for a first timer. An excellent way to explore the canals and see the great architecture of Copenhagen. Felt very safe even with an infant and toddler on board. We rented for 2 hours but 90 minutes was our limit with the small children. We'll definitely go again and recommend it to all of our out of town visitors.

Where to stay in Copenhagen

Most of the hotels in Copenhagen are located in the central Vesterbro or hip Indre By areas, though there are many more adventurous (and somewhat more affordable) places to stay during your vacation. As in the rest of Denmark, accommodations in Copenhagen are quite expensive. If you're traveling on a tight budget, consider camping along the Mølleå River or staying in one of the city's many backpacker hostels. If you prefer an inexpensive hotel, explore options in the Helgolandsgade and Colbjørnsensgade neighborhoods. For a taste of Denmark's art scene, head to the up-and-coming Kongens Nytorv and Nyhavn areas. Travelers who like to stay outside of the main tourist areas should set their sights on one of the city's suburbs, like the northern section where you can stay at a beachfront hotel or on a houseboat.
