Where to stay in Copenhagen

Most of the hotels in Copenhagen are located in the central Vesterbro or hip Indre By areas, though there are many more adventurous (and somewhat more affordable) places to stay during your vacation. As in the rest of Denmark, accommodations in Copenhagen are quite expensive. If you're traveling on a tight budget, consider camping along the Mølleå River or staying in one of the city's many backpacker hostels. If you prefer an inexpensive hotel, explore options in the Helgolandsgade and Colbjørnsensgade neighborhoods. For a taste of Denmark's art scene, head to the up-and-coming Kongens Nytorv and Nyhavn areas. Travelers who like to stay outside of the main tourist areas should set their sights on one of the city's suburbs, like the northern section where you can stay at a beachfront hotel or on a houseboat.

  • A nice place to visit, just 10km outside of Copenhagen. Quaint restaurants, a picturesque harbor and colorful house with thatched roofs to photograph. Was a nice little half day trip.  more »

  • Went on a glorious, sunny, spring day and cycled from Copenhagen. There are cycle paths all the way, and you can enjoy the views of fields, horses, old churches and cottages. The Havn itself was very charming, as well as the Old Town. We bought lunch at the local Netto and picnicked outside. Lovely half day trip, would recommend.
  • Nice place to visit. What used to be a active ferry port is now just a cozy place that features small boats and cafes.
  • Old harbour of Dragør. Lovely place to go for a walk, buy an icecream, watch people pas by, relax and enjo
  • NIce place to stay for few hours. If you want to see old small red houses you shoud visit this place. You can also buy fresh fish there.
  • When the sun is shining - this is the place to be. 😊
