  • Here is genuinely something for Boys butts to see and experience, a fantastic nice exhibition, The large Diesel engine is started first and last Sunday of the month, really an experience to see this old 1400 tonnes of heavy duty Diesel engine run

  • In spite of difficulty with finding the correct bus stop, we were able to get to the Diesel House before they ran the big engine. (It was a special day rather than the usual day for this engine and we...  more »
  • Was free and we road our bikes to it. We go there on the day that one of the smaller engines was being started. Wish we saw the "big boy" run. Interesting and the staff very friendly and informative. ...  more »

  • A great museum about the history of the diesel engine and how it changed the shipping industry and thereby also the world. Also a small exhibition about modern energy supply.
  • The history of Marine diesel engines can be witnessed here. One of the oldest diesel engine is exhibited (1904). And still can be ran. Just astonished by visiting this place. Oh all most forgot to mention , there is a gigantic diesel electric plat there. Withdrawn from the service but still in running condition
  • If you're looking for a large engine you should visit Dieselhouse. It's not just big, they also start the engine regular. They don't start it every day so make sure to visit when they do. It was the largest engine in the world for some years in the 1930's.
  • Great museum. Great tour. Really well laid out. Very educational as well.
  • An Engineer can only give this place a full five star.

Where to stay in Copenhagen

Most of the hotels in Copenhagen are located in the central Vesterbro or hip Indre By areas, though there are many more adventurous (and somewhat more affordable) places to stay during your vacation. As in the rest of Denmark, accommodations in Copenhagen are quite expensive. If you're traveling on a tight budget, consider camping along the Mølleå River or staying in one of the city's many backpacker hostels. If you prefer an inexpensive hotel, explore options in the Helgolandsgade and Colbjørnsensgade neighborhoods. For a taste of Denmark's art scene, head to the up-and-coming Kongens Nytorv and Nyhavn areas. Travelers who like to stay outside of the main tourist areas should set their sights on one of the city's suburbs, like the northern section where you can stay at a beachfront hotel or on a houseboat.
