  • And to think people like Bartholin (discoverer of the lymphatic system), Romer (discoverer of the speed of light-see details of it on Rundestaal), Oersted (discoverer of electromagnetism), Kierkegaard (philosopher), Gram (bacteriologist), Sorensen (concept of pH) and Niels Bohr (the atoms) studied there and that this University has 10 Nobel prizes, I don't think I even have to say anything else. Just going there to see it!

  • We didn't go in just looked for the outside but it was lovely I'm glad we saw it as the building itself is so nice  more »
  • The main building of the University is located near Copenhagen Cathedral. The University was founded in the second half of the 15th century and is the oldest in Denmark. In addition, to date, considered the best in Scandinavia. For tourists is closed, except for a single day of the year-at night, when you can freely stroll the many facilities, as well as accompanied by students become familiar with the campus. Inside blows the spirit of antiquity, many of the elements of decoration for centuries.

  • Nice garden including indoor and outdoor space. Doesn't have a lot of information in English, but it's free so I would go if you have time.
  • nice building. Lovely area
  • It needs a big swimming pool, because it is very warm during winter.
  • Zero cooperation between so called University centers. They have been created only for one purpose that is to increase rankings but they are literally not part of KU.
  • If you are deciding to do a study exchange here, please be warned there are some highly rasist professors on their board. Specifically, I went to ask the professor about a paper on talent acquisition in the HR Management class, and the professor nonchalantly told a 19-year old me he heard people from my country are the biggest communists (?), I guess expecting some sort of reaction from me, but I just stared at him confused in silence as my country had communists before I was even born and people faught a war to change that regime. Not sure how comments like that have any place at a University setting anyway. Later, when discussing rates of 'continuing education in Europe', he said there 'is probably a mistake in the numbers', when my country came up as high as Holland or Denmark. It's a bit insane you let people like that teach, and especially HR Management. I have studied in a number of countries but have never come across something like this.

Where to stay in Copenhagen

Most of the hotels in Copenhagen are located in the central Vesterbro or hip Indre By areas, though there are many more adventurous (and somewhat more affordable) places to stay during your vacation. As in the rest of Denmark, accommodations in Copenhagen are quite expensive. If you're traveling on a tight budget, consider camping along the Mølleå River or staying in one of the city's many backpacker hostels. If you prefer an inexpensive hotel, explore options in the Helgolandsgade and Colbjørnsensgade neighborhoods. For a taste of Denmark's art scene, head to the up-and-coming Kongens Nytorv and Nyhavn areas. Travelers who like to stay outside of the main tourist areas should set their sights on one of the city's suburbs, like the northern section where you can stay at a beachfront hotel or on a houseboat.
