Where to stay in Copenhagen

Most of the hotels in Copenhagen are located in the central Vesterbro or hip Indre By areas, though there are many more adventurous (and somewhat more affordable) places to stay during your vacation. As in the rest of Denmark, accommodations in Copenhagen are quite expensive. If you're traveling on a tight budget, consider camping along the Mølleå River or staying in one of the city's many backpacker hostels. If you prefer an inexpensive hotel, explore options in the Helgolandsgade and Colbjørnsensgade neighborhoods. For a taste of Denmark's art scene, head to the up-and-coming Kongens Nytorv and Nyhavn areas. Travelers who like to stay outside of the main tourist areas should set their sights on one of the city's suburbs, like the northern section where you can stay at a beachfront hotel or on a houseboat.

  • A park located near the water. Just by Kastellet and within walking distance of the little mermaid. A good place to relax on your walk back to the city centre if you go to the little mermaid  more »

  • A beautiful and cozy park with trails, benches and statues. I advise to visit it in good weather. It is located not far from Castellet.  more »

  • Unfortunately the presence of the wonderful Botanical Gardens prevents this from being remembered as Copenhagen's most beautiful gardens, but the proximity to the water and the shade of the trees makes this worth a visit.
  • Wonderful place to take a stroll and chill. There's actually another hill here which is star shaped if viewed from the top. Very peaceful and by the sea. Close to the little mermaid statue as well.
  • St Albans church is wonderful. I love the message. The building is beautiful and so is the surrounding area. It's near other lovely sites well worth a visit.
  • Nice small park with places to seat and enjoy the nature. A couple of interesting scluptures too.
  • Good park to spend a sunny afternoon
