Breathe in some fresh air at Christiania, a car-free neighborhood of free-spirited Copenhagen. Home to about 800 permanent residents, this district covers approximately 35 hectares (84 acres) and functions as a self-governing community. Famous for its relaxed atmosphere and brightly colored houses, the area attracts nonconformists from around the world with its collective workshops and communal living. Venture farther away from the neighborhood's famous main street to discover a world of green gardens, beer halls, music venues, and gift shops. Although you cannot drive into the neighborhood itself, you can leave your car just outside it and join a guided walking tour at the main entrance. • If you're on RAID are in Copenhagen also stroll by Christiania. Very special and the original idea, a free State for the hippies, is still there. Live and let live, for all is place. Looking for memories you against that, of course, a lot has changed in 40 years time, but so does the memories do not fade. It is greatly appreciated if there are no pictures.

  • A highlight in this respect, because quite unorthodox, a little befreumdlich, but also an artistic atmosphere reigns. Especially since drugs looks for informality and freedom from, be sold. "This colony" has vie tourist, but beautiful, quiet corners. Striking were the many dogs that roamed completely casual and apparently very socialized through the area.
