Changing of her Majesty's guard at Amalienborg Castle, Copenhagen
Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Watch Changing of her Majesty's guard at Amalienborg Castle in the square in front of the four identical Rococo royal palaces. Every day the guards march from their barracks by Rosenborg Castle through the city streets to arrive at Amalienborg at noon. There are three different types of watches that can be put into place to secure the palace, and the size of the fanfare of this ceremony depends the type of watch in place (this varies according to which members of the royal family are currently residing in the palace). The king's watch is the only one with the Danish flag present. Larger watches are joined by the music and tambour corps.
