For a free lesson about Denmark's rich plant life, visit Botanical Gardens (Botanisk Have), an oasis of greenery in the city's central district. The extensive park encompasses more than 10 hectares (24 acres) and serves both educational and recreational purposes. A complex of 27 greenhouses are historic buildings from the 1870s that now shelter domestic and exotic plant species, including palms, cacti, orchids, and begonias. A special climate-controlled greenhouse recreates the habitat suitable for growing Arctic plants, while another building protects a large collection of cycad plants, some of which are more than a century old. Botanical Gardens (Botanisk Have) is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Copenhagen Edition.

  • The Gardens are free to go in, but I think might have closed at night. Went mid week, and was very peaceful, with lots of nice places to sit. There was a cafe near the centre, but didn't seem to have ...  read more »
  • Don't miss the tropical greenhouse (even if it is difficult to keep the gap between the inside and the outside temperature) it offers an incredible diversity of Palm trees and two beautiful staircases in snails that lead to a gateway which literally made the tour of the greenhouse (to avoid if you have Vertigo) an attraction worth visiting and which has the advantage of being free

  • Such a lovely place and surprised it was free! Would like to visit again before we leave. The coffee vans serve nice coffee too :)
  • The flora and fauna a very far apart/spread out. The soil on many raised beds looked dry. The Toscakaka in the café was very good though.
  • The Botanical Gardens in Lund host a variety of plants from different parts of the world and there is no admission. During the summer and autumn the garden really comes alive and is full of vibrant colours. Make sure to visit the green house. Again there is no admission and it is open daily 11:00 to 15:00.
  • Full of interesting trees, plants and animals with plenty of information on what you're looking at. A good way to spend a few hours in this nice university town.
  • Fantastic botanical garden in Lund, must-go-to-place for plant lovers. There is also a greenhouse with extraordinary exotic plant species!
  • Great botanical garden with a lot of variety! During the summer it must be even better..
