Tivoli Friheden, Aarhus

3.9
#3 of 6 in Theme Parks in East Jutland
The haunted house, illusion factory, and 5-D cinema are just a few of the 40 attractions at one of Denmark's oldest amusement parks, Tivoli Friheden. There are many rides to choose from that vary in intensity. Try the swings for elevated views of the surrounding park, play a round of mini golf on the 12-hole course, or brave the rough seas on the imitation pirate ship. Throughout the park you'll find live entertainment such as Pjerrot the magician and the park's two mascots, Mrs. Frog and Mr. Rabbit. Try some of the traditional Danish dishes at the on-site restaurant, or use the barbecue in the picnic area. • We arrived at the Park, and so they had all invlusive tickets. Where one got the buffet, coffee/ice cream or popcorn, and games for only £ 10 extra.. We thought that it looked after us well! So we went for it, and we are glad we did! Good food and variety! Everyone was well fed and satisfied! The Carnival itself was and awesome! A little queue, but we were not too long! It was a bit for all age groups! We had with a 2, 5 and 10-year-old! All had tried it they would! Could probably have tilbringt two days in a row there, so that we could see more than 1 time per carousel.. tip-top thumb up for Tivoli Friheden

  • Pretty good little amusement park, however, just a shame you have to wait until there are min. 10 people to its attractions run. Or they just don't run because of rep.

  • If you are fond of tivoli Tivoli Friheden recommended. Lots of cute activities for children of all ages. Even for the very least. Package with lunch, drinks and snacks as a release the large expenses for food. Kids alesket it. Will definitely back here.

  • This is a very cosy fairground, with a long history and old traditions. It's a nice mix of down to earth playground for both young kids and older kids-by-heart. Almost everything costs money, so I highly recommend to buy a tour-band (Currently it costs less than five times the cheapest ride.) even if you are just there with the kids - this month they even allow you to use it on two separate days for the same price. The restaurant we tried offered an eat what you can buffet, featuring a high number of delicious roasts and other meats, combined with a selection of potatoes and a great salad bar to choose from. Our kids loved it! I'll be back again this month for sure!
  • If you are a visitor, this is an excellent small theme park. If you live near the park (like I do), it is a wonderful theme park for you children go to during the summer months. Compared to US theme parks, this place is not crowded compared to what I'm use to and I've been on busy summer days. There is a great casual feel us fun and quality family time at this park. I can let my kids run free and not worry. I agree what others have said that it could use some new ideas given it is a smaller park. I've also visited during Christmas and it was quite lovely. The Christmas markets, food, and øl kept me happy while my kids played.
  • In Christmas time there are many wonderful micro shops selling organic Nordic food and homemade produce of top quality.
  • Quite a compact theme-park, but it works and serves its visitors well. However, as many other google users have mentioned, the park could use some new ideas in their rides, and try to make full use of their limited space effectively. During the off-season, there are still quite a few people, but of course the waits are considerably shorter, while during the peak seasons, this place will be packed full. Overall, its a nice park for what it is, but if you are a frequent visitor you may find yourself becoming bored of this place quite quickly.
  • Very cozy place. Especially in the winter months. Fine rides and lovely environment.

Where to stay in Aarhus

For a price, you can stay close to the main sights of this charming city at one of the many hotels located in Aarhus' historical old town. While it may feel like a romantic small town with its cobbled streets, accommodations here, especially centrally located options or hotels along the marina, are just as expensive as in many other Scandinavian cities. Moderately priced hotels and hostels are limited, so if you are traveling on a budget, book early at a spot outside the city center. For nature lovers passing through the city, there are also campgrounds located near Aarhus in the beautiful surrounding forests.
