  • Real fine place where everyone can meet. Nice views and huge library. Supercool parking. Take the children to go and see it

  • Dokk1 definitely lives up to the hype! As a student I'm very fond of a different approach to a study environment. The library gives a great feel of openness toward all types of people no matter age. W...  read more »

  • Love it! Lives in Aarhus and with this new large public meeting place my city is much more interesting to be in. You can go here to just hang out, read, write, play, talk, eat, soak some sun, work on your computer, study, park you bike or your car, meet with friends, with business contacts, with likeminded people sharing your interests, engage in a lot of cultural projects, play games, feed the gulls, etc... all public for the puclic (mostly) by the public. There is a lot going on in Dokk1 and I saw some people complaining that it could be hard to find a quiet spot here to study seriously. Let me say that this is a PUBLIC library and also a cultural centre. There are better options for studying in quiet surroundings at the University libraries. Dokk1 is for kids, families, teenagers, students, the elderly... everybody. And it is supposed to be more than just a library, also a cultural centre and a public meeting spot. There are however special study rooms and sealed study sections that one can book or just use as is. The architects has also worked with the acoustics, so the sound level will never reach the annoying level and there will always be a corner where you can sit mostly undisturbed. That is unless there is a veritable symphony concert inside the building, which occasionally happens. I have one small "complaint" that I hope will be solved in the future. The free Wi-Fi internet at Dokk1, can be unstable and too weak to be usefull outside the building. It sometimes works when you sit outside at the café, but it would be great if one could access it from all around, outside the building. The whole area is called "Urban Media Space", so I think it should be fixed.
  • It's more of a place to read than to study if studying, for you requires extra silence and attention. It's quite noisy always. Few silent rooms so you've got to grab a seat early in those places. The architecture and design is just awesome. It overlooks the harbor giving you a nice scenery outside. Books to read, scene to enjoy and design to relish. What else do you want? :)
  • This is a must visit in Aarhus. Very interesting architecture. It's not like any other library. There's a small cozy cafe, and the view from the terrace is awesome.
  • It's a wonderful library that is beautiful and has all the books you need. There are events there and always something to do there It's a must visit in Århus
  • I agree with separations, in that this facility should be available for students for an extended period of time, either within exam period or in general. It is a shame that the facility stays empty in time of need. Let it be part of AU Campus! Let great minds blossom -.-'
