  • The botanical gardens are a stunning green oasis in Aarhus with flowering shrubs and trees, as well as a large rockery plants with lots of different rockery plants. The rose beds along Peter's Road is beautiful when the different rose varieties is in full bloom. The path system in the garden invites you for strolling or jogging. The greenhouses with the proportional new "bubble" with subtropical plants are definitely worth a visit for botany enthusiasts. Visit the greenhouses can be completed with a visit to the cafeteria. An experience for both children, adolescents, adults and the elderly.

  • Botanical Gardens are well worth a visit, even just to get a little air in the middle of the city. But the greenhouses, they are the real genius! It is free, there are a lot of exciting plants (e.g. coffee, cocoa, the cactus, which is used to make tequila), and if you get hungry or thirsty is the coffee shop inexpensive and quite excellent!

  • Great place to go for bad weather situations. It is entry free and you will get some delicious food for a good price at the bistro inside. A small but nice variety of different plants from different countries. Recommendation: take the time to take a seat in the bistro, enjoy a coffee and something to eat while playing some free offered games.
  • Lovely large greenhouse with plants from a variety of environments. Completely free! Also has a small cafe and souvenirs if you want to support the effort. Well worth a visit!
  • Amazing place. No entry fee iniside the dome and large park outside. Inside is quite educative and outside relaxing with benches and picnic spots.
  • A paradise. With many plants and rich flora. Worth visiting, and it's free!
  • The Botanical Garden is already a great place and the Væksthusene definitely worth a visit while you are here. Exhibit of plants from all over the world paired with a lot of additional information to discover and learn - not only for children. And it's for free!

Where to stay in Aarhus

For a price, you can stay close to the main sights of this charming city at one of the many hotels located in Aarhus' historical old town. While it may feel like a romantic small town with its cobbled streets, accommodations here, especially centrally located options or hotels along the marina, are just as expensive as in many other Scandinavian cities. Moderately priced hotels and hostels are limited, so if you are traveling on a budget, book early at a spot outside the city center. For nature lovers passing through the city, there are also campgrounds located near Aarhus in the beautiful surrounding forests.
