Aarhus Domkirke is home to one of Denmark's great treasures--a 15th-century, carved altarpiece with movable sections. The outer walls of the cathedral and the chapels are the only original Romanesque elements that survived Gothic rebuilding. Look for the Lazarus window in the northwest corner, which probably served as a counter for sharing food with the lepers. The cathedral also houses the largest stained-glass window in Denmark, five wrought-iron latticework portals, and a pulpit carved with biblical scenes. Notice a votive ship hanging at the crossing as a reminder of those lost at sea. The wall paintings of St. Christopher and S.t Clement are the tallest in the country. The cathedral is very impressive from the outside, but rather disappointing inside. But high to the ceiling for sure, impressive building. more »

Although small for a catherdal well woth looking round, pick up an english guide at the door to see and read about the treasures inside. Free entry but extra cost for the tower worth the climb for... more »

Another church although it had its good qualities. The sound quality was good and it was excellent refuge from the rain. more »

The inside of the church is beautiful. It's not a traditional Catholic church. It isn't as extravagant, but it does have beautiful medieval art everywhere. It is very interesting to look at the gravestones and the art on the ground and on the ceiling. Unfortunately, it does cost money to climb the tower, so I didn't do that.

Exquisite! Beyond beautiful even when undergoing renovations and work on the organ as it is right now. Do not miss seeing this beautiful and historical site.

A place with history, very interested to see. Go up in the top of the church, great view
-
Impressive old building with its own particular design, representative for the city. Too bad it could not be visited during my staying there.
