Located on an old Viking burial site, Lindholm Hoeje Museum represents an authentic place to learn about Viking culture. As you stand on the site, 700 ancient graves stretch out before you. The stone tombstones are well preserved on this archaeological site, which dates back to 400-1,000 CE, and the wandering sheep add to the serene panoramic view. The attached museum offers you a look into traditional Viking houses and display artifacts that were found on excavation of the grounds.   • Museum and cemetery right next to is quite unique in Danish and Nordic history.. The grave site is among the largest of its kind in the whole of Northern Europe and the prospect of the fjord is awesome ... The museum displays with very good exhibitions how that life in the Viking age and the time before were lived in North Jutland, in Denmark as a whole ... There are many beautiful and educational exhibitions that speaks to both children and adults! Also, there are great finds from the site, as well as period artifacts to embody one of the most exciting historical periods ... There are summer live workshops and events in which the visitors can be involved in various chores. ... Also be made there guided tours in the beautiful area ..... Are you for the Vikings and the lead-up to the Viking age, this along with the area's ring castles a must for every big and little viking................... There is a good store with exciting things about the Vikings and their lives!!

  • An exciting exhibition with some strange collections. You can dress up as a Viking as well :-)
  • Great insight into Viking culture. Hugely atmospheric, easy drive after ferry landing at Freidrickshaven
