  • Nice atmosphere.
  • Jens Bangs Stenhus was built in 1624 for Jens Bang, a typical Renaissance and merchant, and one of Aalborg's richest men. The architect is unknown. Stone House is one of the best preserved houses from Christian IV's time. House main facade has three highly decorated round Gables, like every endegavl is also vælsk. Under window arches are mesh heads in the cartilage Baroque. The building was located in the Renaissance on a very central part of the city, since the goods here could be navigated on smaller boats from the larger ships on the limfjord, directly to the stone house. Jens Bang invested in a ship that was supposed to provide timber and Spanish salt to Christian IVs feudal Lord, and had success in his business.
