Wallenstein garden, Prague

4.7
Take a short breather from your tour of the city with a visit to Wallenstein garden, a sprawling Baroque park on the left bank of the Vltava River. The palace, constructed in the early decades of the 17th century, now houses the country's senate and offers only limited access to visitors. The garden is open to the public daily, so you can stroll along its neat pathways or feed the ducks at its picturesque pond. Be sure to visit the "sala terrena," a richly decorated garden pavilion overlooking a fountain and a row of bronze statues representing figures from Greek mythology. • a great place to spend time. Nicely, calmly, strolling peacocks, which you can even feed. CARP swim in the pond

  • Very beautiful garden. I could walk here for a long time, it's so peaceful. There are peacocks that strut around like they own the place (which they probably do), and beautiful fishes and statues. The senate which entrance is in the garden has a grand setup with statues lining the path towards it and a beautiful painted ceiling. There's also a specially formed wall where they hid resemblances of animals in.
  • A very pretty garden that's open to the public for free. Try to find both the regular and the albino peacocks that are usually near the pond. It's fun to try to find faces carved in the volcanic rock wall. If you're walking over to the castle it's on your way. Don't miss it.
  • Really interesting and beautiful park. Starting in march its open everyday from 10 to 18hrs. Entrance is free! There is a fountain with huge fish in it, and its surrounded by fragrant trees and white peacocks! There are more surprises deeper inside and sometimes there are open air concerts! Worth it!
  • This is an exceptionally beautiful park. There are a lot of different things to see and they can be surprising. You don't wanna miss this if you are in the area.
  • An interesting garden near the Prague castle. I liked the huge wall statue, although its meaning is a bit obscure.
