  • Visegrad tunnel (tunel Vyšehradský) is very modest in scale, but very important for its transport construction, essentially binding its new location with more southern Prague areas Branikom, Hodkovichkami, Podolí and Modrzhanami. Agree, 34 meters long (some sources-35), a width of 9 meters and five-meter height of the arch is very and very little by the standards tunnel 956429 and bridge builders. The authors of the project were two Prague engineer Vaclav Dvorak and František Velich. The tunnel was opened December 11, 1904 Goda. For all its regular, Visegrad tunnel plays a serious role in transportation for otherwise Novomestja in the southern parts of the right bank of the Vltava River would have to travel either via Pankrác, either through Smichov. Input (from the new seats) and output (by Podolí) portals buildings decorated with stylized battlements and towers in the Castle style psevdogitocheskom (something like Curtin bastion fortification system of the Citadel). Can a historical allusion to the theme of Libuše and the Visegrad fortress? By the way, with Vyshegradskim tunnel is connected another interesting must see the Czech capital-plaque Jan Krejci (deska Pamětní Jana Krejčího), the famous Czech geographer, Professor and geologist. It was installed just in time for the construction of the tunnel at its northern wall, but due to the partial destruction of the brickwork in the year 1999 was moved above the Eastern wall (where I found it).

  • In order not to go around vysehrad mount paved a tunnel. To somehow match the Visegrad, tunnel architecture is also closer in style to the middle ages. Very well turned out.

  • A small tunnel in the Vyšehrad rock, built very stylish, in the form of an arch of the ancient castle. The road passes through a tunnel connecting two districts of Prague.
