4.7/5 based on 2,000+ reviews on the web
A symbol of Czech statehood, Vyšehrad sits on a high promontory overlooking the Vltava River. This "Castle on the Heights," as its name roughly translates, notably contains a neo-Gothic church and an 11th-century rotunda, the oldest one in Prague. The extensive complex of structures also includes a 19th-century cemetery that's the final resting place for many Czech luminaries, including Alfons Mucha, Bedrich Smetana, and Antonin Dvorak. Many of the cemetery's headstones represent examples of outstanding artistic achievement; Dvorak's tombstone counts among the finest works of sculptor Ladislav Saloun, also interred here. Using our custom trip planner, Prague attractions like Vyšehrad can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • Nice quiet park. Good for relaxing walks. There is a really great view on the end of this park.
  • Not a lot to see. But definitely a good place to stroll and spend some time. Should be the last thing to do in Prague. Try to take the metro to avoid climbing.
  • I loved to walk around this place. The park was very beautiful in autumn. The view of the river was magnificent. I could stay for sometime to enjoy it. It would be perfect combination if you're lucky to have a bright day.
  • Best park in Prague for jogging, picnic, date. Concerts and church at same place. you can have a great view of the Prague beautiful structure from top of it
