(4.7/5 based on 340+ reviews on the web)
Enjoy one a magnificent baroque landscaping in Vrtbovská zahrada, a large garden built on the slope of Petrin Hill in Prague. Made up of Italian-style terraces connected by stairs and supported by curved walls, the garden features many exquisite sculptures of Ceres and Bacchus and elaborate rail guards crafted by some of the best artists of the 18th century Habsburg Prague. A circular pool with a statue of sea monster is surrounded by fine labyrinth topiary and live fences. Interior decorations have been well-preserved with fresco paintings and there is an aviary featuring some rare birds maintained by Prague Zoo. Enjoy views of the city from a tranquil spot. • even if due to the site on the UNESCO World Heritage list. You can easily miss the entrance to the gardens, but the entrance to the middle ... a completely different world. In a moment we come away from the hustle and bustle of Prague's streets and we are in one of the most beautiful gardens in the world.

  • It's a wonderful garden, small but it offers a great sight of the city once you climb up the two sets of stairs. The garden and its statues belong to a style close to the Italian tradition. There's plenty of green and flowers and also an aviary with exotic birds.
  • Very nice garden that's worth the 5 euro. Also the view from the top is great.
  • Nice quiet garden. There is an entrance fee, and it is on the smaller side, but it is EXTREMELY well-maintained and a great place for a break from the crowded street. People were sitting on the benches eating some gelato they brought in from outside, and the view from the top is quite picturesque.
  • Beautiful place. Do go there if ypu have the time!
  • A really beautiful and little Italian garden with a panoramic view of Prague. Definitely a must-see.
