The Strahov Monastic Brewery, Prague

(4/5 based on 700+ reviews on the web)
Have some beer with your history at The Strahov Monastic Brewery, located on the grounds of a Premonstratensian monastery. Perched on top of a hill leading up to Prague's castle, this microbrewery produces a beer named after Saint Norbert, the founder of the Premonstratensian religious order. Originally established in 1628, the brewery shut its production down in 1907. Painstakingly restored and reopened nine decades later, the brewery now includes a modern restaurant, also named after Saint Norbert. Stop by for a meal and a glass of dark or amber beer, brewed according to regulations set by a purity law enacted in 1516. • Like beer, try to eat a variety of beer in Prague, and beer and meat not giving very delicious. Too many people just siggeureobgido and not good for employees would eat only the order coming up. That part is kinda good. There's also an outdoor spot me cool outdoor atmosphere, it would have been better had to sit in.

  • The location of the restaurant is at the same time an advantage and the "curse". Thanks to the monastery there's an interesting atmosphere, on the other the amount of tourists is really big, and even now in the winter, in the summer it's don't even want to imagine. On the other hand, it is certainly not a classic tourist trap. We got to the brewery in the experiential gift card "tour, tasting, roast knuckle of pork". The tour was interesting, in a small number of people to get to the background, and something about that brewing beer. All 5 beers that are currently on the PIN, it was excellent, I really enjoyed. The food was excellent, even if within the action for 2 people it was too (fried bread with spreads before the tour, after visiting the roast knuckle of pork). I think it was enough for 4 people. The service was pleasant and attentive. I recommend you visit in less touristically exposed time (if any) and make a reservation.
