Look into the depths of space at Stefanik Observatory. The enthusiastic staff will lead you through a learning journey where you'll take a close-up look at the sun and experiment with different levels of light. While you are there, make sure to experience the meteorite exhibit and inspect the old science equipment on display. If you're coming in a group, give advance notice and the staff can arrange an English-language viewing of a show on the universe. • Don't miss this place, not sure how many cities have a hill this tall downtown without light pollution so the sky is visible... There is a nice exhibition inside, doesn't take too long to see, and if ...  read more »
  • I'm glad I was able to visit, even if you have to be careful on the dates/opening orai. We went in the morning and we were the first to enter. The staff lets you see the celestial bodies, we could see the Sun, although because of the haze (damn!) could not locate sunspots. I also enjoyed the exhibitions of pieces of meteorites. Go there at night during the seminars should be very interesting, but it is difficult for a tourist caught these events.

  • You can even come in the afternoon. One telescope is looking at Venus, the other in the Sun. "But just to good weather was on planet Earth":). In the evening, of course, more interesting (it was not possible to come), but good day. A small museum, all sorts of optical tricks. Staff (guys) in Russian is not said, but it knows. In short, come, you won't regret it.

  • Opens at 1400-2100 on weekday and 1000-2100 on weekend. I did not manage to get in but it looked interesting from outside. Came here early in morning during my run. Marking down as things to do in future.
  • A nice observatory in a serene park. Don't know if it's open to the public - it was closed when I was there.
  • Popular place to learn something about space. Check out the tours, sometimes there are open days.
  • A nice observatory in a great park. nice place
