Sex Machines Museum, Prague

(600+ reviews on the web)
Specialty Museum
Shocking to some, funny to others, Sex Machines Museum indisputably offers a change of pace from the city's historical attractions. Spread over the building's three floors, you can see over 200 "mechanical erotic appliances," as the museum officials describe their unusual exhibits. The world's only museum dedicated entirely to sex machines, this gadget gallery displays copulation tables, stimulation instruments, chastity belts, iron corsets, and anti-masturbation appliances. An exhibit of special interest to history buffs contains shoes worn by ancient Greek prostitutes, designed to leave the words "follow my steps" imprinted on the ground. Entry is for adults over 18 only, so bring a valid ID. Use our Prague itinerary maker to add Sex Machines Museum and other attractions to your Prague vacation plans.

  • More hype than history, but it was good for an easy laugh. The best exhibition was the 1928 porn film. Lots of items were modern and rather silly - more for comic relief than a historical value.  more »
  • Well Blow me away!! I really had no comprehension of how people could find the use or have such a sexual appetite for such a plethora of toys, gismos and gadgets!!! The vibrating rather contorted impl...  more »
  • Museum, whose entrance costs 150 CZK (for students), an average price, which might be cheaper. Aside from the price, the Museum is very particular, every object that there is has a very detailed explanation and also nice to read, walk to this museum is fun because it makes you realize the perversion of the human mind already in antiquity. Advice to stay for 1 hour of fun, partly because in the Centre of Prague.

  • Quite an interesting place to visit, especially if you like things a little bit less vanilla. It's a very popular attraction and has a reasonable range of exhibits, which mainly seem to focus on women gaining pleasure whilst men are denied! Displayed over three floors, the range of artefacts ranges from stockings through various vibrators to queening seats and chastity devices.
  • Very interesting and exciting topic for a museum. I saw people of all ages there. It seems that automatization of sexual pleasure has been an significant interest for humanity since ever. The exposition is not so reach, but it is growing.
  • Abit pricy- works out to be around £15 for 2 adults, we were in there for around 45 mins. I wouldn't say it's a 'must see' but abit of fun for a few sleezy giggles.
  • In comparison with other museums this place is uninformative and way too crowded, which is both due to the exhibition being fit into a rather small area and its target customer being someone who goes there to giggle over penises and vaginas. Also in comparison with other Czech museums this place is one of the most, if not the most expensive one. Regarding its uninformativeness the displayed items are either described incredibly shortly (four or three lines and that's it, not telling you nearly anything at all), or not described whatsoever. I was looking forward to visiting this place and the whole experience was just disappointing.
  • Our cultural Prague outing. We, who normally visit shops and see museums from the outside took a gander on this one. Three floor filled with sex toys and machines from through the ages - a 20,000 yrs old dildo which was carefully put together by archaeologists; just imagine their faces when they slowly realised what it was they were crafting. We saw loads of toys and medical machinery. We also saw the pre-runner of the travelling 'peep-show', anti-masturbation devices, BDSM masks, flurry dolls, swings and body jewellery. I have to say.. those Victorians were ..eh.. very inventive. To top it of we spent some time watching vintage Spanish porn in the downstairs cinema. Together with a group of other visitors. Surreal.
