  • I should probably premise this review by saying ever since my first Sandeman tour in Copenhagen, when ever I visit a new city and one is available, I go. I did two in Prague and both of these were of ...  more »

  • We did the tour free walk with the Guide Javier Centeno. It was really excellent and very entertaining his explanation. You have extensive knowledge of the history and architecture of the site and knows how to convey it with total clarity. Also gave us some suggestions very useful to be able to better leverage our stay in Prague.

  • I was in Prague during the last month of October. I had booked castle tour. When I reached the starting point at 10AM, I was informed that the tour is cancelled.. I asked the guide if they can refund the ticket as I can't make it on a different day since I was leaving that day night. She said I should email them. I sent email and they requested me to send pics of original ticket. After I sent tickets, I received not even a single reply. I emailed them several times. But they didn't have basic courtesy to reply. It's not about getting refund, atleast they should know how to treat their customers. I will not recommend the walking tour, as Prague is quiet small. Instead of spending 2-3 hours walking with the group, you can visit them yourself and can cover more places. Basically it was very boring.
  • The guides are profiling their customers and encouraging those they don't like to go away in a rude manner. We told the guides we needed to leave early and asked where would be best to head off given our destination. They blatantly told us that they didn't want people who would leave early as that meant less money for them. Replied that we would tip for a full tour and we're only leaving 10/15 mins earlier anyway. They strongly discouraged us from taking the tour and made us feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome so we went elsewhere. Witnessed them turning away another couple ahead of us who spoke perfect English but whom they said they thought would feel much more comfortable with another tour group in their mother tongue. They suggested the couple just walk around and make other plans.
  • Me and my boyfriend joined the Free Walking Tour and the Castle tour in Prague and were so excited about the buildings, the history and the whole facts and myths we've learned about the city so that we can really recommend the tour. Our guides Veronica and Terry were absolutely amazing and they really seemed to love their work and the city because they were so enthusiastic and entertaining that it was really fun to be part of the group. So we don’t regret our decision to join the tour at all. Greetings
  • I was so pleased to be able to find this free walking tour after being about to book one that was going to cost a lot more than that! Hannah was our guide; it was her second tour. She was knowledgeable, friendly, funny, personable and kind. It was a pleasure taking this tour with her and gave four stars only b/c she's going to get even better with experience. I would recommend this tour; thank you, Hannah!
  • We did a free walking tour with Sarah from Sandemans. It was great! Sarah provided us with loads of information about the past, the present and the citizens of Prague and their habits. The tour was really honest — no touristy stuff no whitewashing. Sarah's way of telling the facts and tales was very engaging, there were very funny/happy moments but also very emotional ones. The only thing that did not match the great tour, was the break spot! It seemed very touristy and wasn't a great place... But it was up to you if you wanted to order something or just wanted to sit and relax, so it is not really a problem! If you are in Prague I would absolutely recommend the tour!

Where to stay in Prague

As one of Europe’s main tourist destinations, Prague offers a selection of accommodations to match its popularity, from luxury hotels to very affordable hostels. For an authentic Prague experience, stay at one of the guesthouses or boutique hotels housed inside the city's historical buildings. You'll find many lodgings concentrated around the most popular sightseeing areas, such as the Old Town, the Lesser Town, and Prague Castle, but there are also a good number of them in other neighborhoods. The best way to make Prague feel like home is to rent a fully furnished apartment.
