Prague Zoo, Prague

(4.7/5 based on 6,000+ reviews on the web)
Prague Zoo occupies a wooded area on the right bank of the Vltava River. Home to nearly 5,000 animals from almost 700 different species, the park offers you a chance to come face-to-face with giraffes, gorillas, polar bears, tigers, and red pandas. Although the park shelters over 130 species listed as critically endangered, its most important possession may be a herd of rare Przewalski’s horses, native to the steppes of central Asia. Stop by to see the descendants of the last Przewalski's horse caught in the wild, and discover other highlights of this animal sanctuary by taking a guided ride on the zoo's miniature cable car. • It is important to understand that this is not a zoo in the Centre of the Gallery, where you can "casually" drop by to admire the exhibition to go ahead. You need to plan what you'll spend half or whole day. The Zoo is located at a decent distance from the Center, and the "direct" route to him not only with connecting flights. The area is quite large, Zoo, to bypass all the enclosures from ants to pink flamingos and back to the exit is not pressing pleasure given stops pofotat will need a couple of hours ± there is also other attractions: Castle Troja Botanical Garden, vineyard (with excellent vintage wines on a hillside overlooking the Castle and Castle labyrinth)

  • The words are not enough to describe joy and happines that we experienced in this big, beautiful, animal friendly zoo. Animals have big areas for living. and closest they could have natural environmen...  more »
  • Not I hoped to find me a zoo as well of good. I recommend it to all those who want to do something fun and, above all, to those traveling with children. We let all the last day of our trip to visit it and it was the best decision we could have made. The zoo is large and will need all the day for see it with tranquility. The only downside that would put you is to visit him in winter many animals they were in special zones to protect them from the cold and unseen as well as outdoors. I hope to visit it again in the spring.

  • This is the only major zoo I've ever been to sadly so I can't truly compare it with other zoos, but it's surely something. The sheer number of animals on display is breathtaking. I honestly can't think of any realistic animal they don't have on display. The are in massive and sometimes open spaces showing the animals in a nearly natural environment. The zoo itself keeps updating it's facilities with several new buildings added in the last few years.
  • Most beautiful zoological garden in Czech Republic. Totally worth visiting. Recommended!
  • One of the best in the World! Great routes, amazingly well kept animals and great opportunities on how animals feed (just check the website before to be at the right spot, at the right time). A place for adults and kids and for Ingress players, you have plenty of portals and am sure also Pokemon Go players will find some uniques there. Fully recommended!
  • Almost completely void of tourists. Inexpensive and fantastic food. Beautiful exhibits. Highly recommend.
  • Super neat, lots of free space for animals, many restaurants and alot of wcs! Great place to visit in Prague!! Just superb!
