  • Walking through Prague Street political prisoners (vězňů Lived), at the junction with the Vashingtonovoj (Washingtonova) I finally more carefully considered regular neoclassical example of architecture of the Czech capital-the so-called Petchkuv Palace (Petschkův palác or as it is sometimes referred to as prazhaki-Pečkárna). It is visually "sullen and cold four-story building (ground floor) was built in 1923-1929 by architect Max Spielmann (Max Setting). Building owner was a representative of the famous Prague family bankirskogo Julius (Julius Petschek) Stoves. Building, inter alia, be used as a Bank, so were placed in the basements of big bank safes built into the thick concrete walls. Their protection level was so high that for all time existence nobody tried to Rob! Gray "neprivetlivoe" Palace (which currently hosts one of the divisions of the Ministry of industry and trade of the Czech Republic) on the perimeter of the ground floor is decorated with raw rough granite, adds a certain rigor construction. The second, third and fourth floors are tiled with travertine façade (jetttt this cute travertines). Central portal of the Palace of the humble and strict: four columns with Doric capitals, topped by convex jehinami, support the rectangular "faceless" architrave. The massive wrought-iron lamps on the sides of the portal clearly would add "fun" if only were not such a "surly" black.

  • We visited the Palace during the openhouse Prague and we were very impressed with the magnificent Interior and an interesting history. In the basement is an exhibition devoted to the occupation of Czechoslovakia, that is definitely worth a more thorough examination. During the tour we got into the vault, which was a super experience.

Enquiry are zpristupnovany part of the building the United with that of the Gestapo. Cell, vyslychaci or cekarna at the time and zvana cinema ... it's not just romance but to our history that patri.

  • A beautiful historic building with the controversial fate, now serving as the Ministry of civil service: if it is open, feel free to visit her. In most cases, is a tour and with the interpretation of the wizard.
