Crossing the Manesov bridge, next to the Czech capital Wayfarer lands on a small area bounded by the streets of Klarov, iron benches and Kosarkovoj promenade. And the first thing that strikes you unequivocally his eyes-an unusual and highly original monument in the form of a huge winged lion. Sculptures of the King of beasts, previously seen in the country, always cause certain reactions: admiration, respect, sometimes sadness and sorrow (as the dying Lion of Lucerne in Switzerland). Prague winged lion-"Okřídlený lev" was opened June 17, 2014 year at Klárově near the subway station Close in memory of 2500 Czechoslovak pilots who fought in the ranks of Britain's Royal Air Force (Royal Air Force) as an expression of gratitude for their service by citizens of Britain. Sculpture, IMHO, embodies the strength and power of your their prototype. Krylatost, I believe that there is a certain element of fabulousness, but what appears before our eyes, is not perceived as a fairy tale. On the contrary, it seems that that's it, and this terrible predator will issue a loud roar, uncover the deadly fangs and threw himself into battle with fascism. Under the military-historical data, achievements of Czechoslovak RAF fighters is about 365 downed enemy aircraft, as well as 6 V1 rockets downed. It is necessary to add to this list and a great number of industrial, military and similar objects that were targets of the bombing. The price of victory-531 Czechoslovak aviation pilot (on any data-493). They all gave their lives for the victory over the brown plague ".
