Národní muzeum, Prague
Categories: Specialty Museums, Museums
Learn about the Czech Republic's culture and natural environment by exploring the scientific and historical collections of Národní muzeum. Josef Schultz designed this monumental Neo-Renaissance building in the 19th century as a symbol of the Czech National Revival. The grand entrance hall features a wide staircase, intricate stonework, and ceiling frescos. The museum houses almost 14 million items relating to mineralogy, paleontology, mycology, botany, entomology, zoology, anthropology, the arts, and archeology. Look for a 12th-century silver tiara in the archeology department and a gilded silver rhyton in the prehistory area. The theater department includes costume designs, music, memorabilia, and marionettes from the Czech puppet theater. I have visited the noha's arch. It is clean museum located at the center of the city. It has great collection of items. Worth to go with family.
Main building of the Czech National Museum is closed for thorough renovation thus a small selection of mostly animals is available at the adjacent building. The front office stuff desperately needs training in customer communication/service, unless their performance purposefully provides foreign visitors with an experience of communistic Czechoslovakia of early-eighties.
A gigantic building situated in the center of business and cultural hub of Prague. The statue of horse in front of the building doubles its beauty. A lot of food shops and shopping shops are situated around this building.
That is a real beautiful place (not really), but I recommend u guys to go there, cause there are many culture facts we can learn in there, but unluckily the main building is closed.
Main old museum building is closed. But the temporary exhibition is still interesting
