  • The story of the alchemist was interesting, from reading the information. But this can be done for free on Google. The guide wasn't good, his English was bad, and he seemed rushed. Once he finished he...  more »
  • It was nice reconstructed, however few original stuff ... The Guide tried to like do but his English was pretty flawed and difficult to follow. The room downstairs with alchemists was be cool to see, but that was pretty much the only one. I would not do it again.

  • It extremely overpriced for what it is. The history behind the location is wasted on an uninterested guide who barely shares any information and cheap plastic props that take the magic away from the p...  more »

  • It was great! We booked our ticket downstairs and got one for "Prague Ghosts and Legends Museum" for our way back. The tour has been done by a local and lead us way top of some kind of tower. I don't want to say too much about the tour but I was impressed by his stamina. We had at least 30 Degrees and he was doing the same tour over and over again with a warm looking shirt. We had a stop on their cafe as well and can recommend their "Elixirs". This is probably something you need to try out by yourself!
  • CASH-ONLY PLACE. This is a tale of 2 museums. The first part of the museum is best for those with an academic interest in alchemy. The amount of info was extensive and impressive, written by reputable sources (doctors and professors) that detailed the history and development of alchemy in general and how it was brought to Prague. It includes interesting alchemical hotspots in the city and anecdotes about alchemists and impostors. There is, however, A LOT of text to read and you have to stand for quite a long time to take it all in. My recommendation to make this part more pleasant: they also provide all of this information in a booklet for 70 crowns, so I highly suggest buying that instead - maybe read it in the outside terrace with an (alchemical) drink - and doing the interactive part after that. The second part is more for the casual tourist who wants to see and be told about what people were working on. You go up into the tower to see an alchemist's workspace (sadly all made up of replicas). The guide will tell you the history of the place, the alchemists who worked there, and can answer virtually all of your questions. The two girls working there were both clearly very interested in the topic and history (the blonde girl will gladly tell you all about the Czech Republic!), which made this an awesome all-round experience!
  • If you're interested in alchemy and magic, the museum is worth a visit. There are two areas, the waiting room on the one hand where you can find a plethora of information about the topic and some interactive exhibitions, and the main museum on the other hand. It's an ancient attic where you get a guided tour. It's very pretty there and also interesting because everything is so old and original. Furthermore, the museum will be great for kids as there are many interactive aspects. However, it is by no means apt for people in wheelchairs, as you have to climb very high and old stairs to get to the attic.
  • This is an interesting museum with two different buildings. Especially the guided tour in the alchemist laboratory was very interesting. It is probably not for everyone, but if you would like to see something different than the usual sight seeing, then this is a good place. I can also recommend the beautiful view from the roof of the second building.
  • I loved this place! One can learn a lot about the beginnings and development of alchemy over the centuries, the tower is fun and the Faust's hall a bit creepy, but in a good way
