  • Uninteresting... a ripoff. 2 poor tiny rooms on the ground floor over the Tower, which is just good to make smile of children... Nothing more to say.

  • A poor room downstairs or there's nothing to do and a tower, with the last floor under roof, a staging of the l Alchemist "labo"... If the décor is rather well done, anglo Czech visit is very average and l together is not worth € 8 per person! To avoid, no interest!

  • The museum is small, but it's quite different than what the city normally has. Very cool first floor room. Our guide in the tower was super nice, funny and gave great information. Definately a good pl...  more »

  • This was kind of a lame stop. You get to see an ancient attic with some cheesy props and go up some old stairs. It could have been cool but the guide didn't know much history and just tells you why he thinks the medieval alchemists were fools. The other alchemy museum in Prague is much better with knowledgeable guides and is a very cool slice of the city's history.
  • Do not believe the photos. It is all of 2 rooms with such old displays that they need to be dusted. They focus more on some random stone golem than actual alchemy.
  • Complete waste of time...maybe if it wasnt under renovations it would be really cool, but we payed $20 to walk up 5 flights of stairs and look at wax statues and props. We felt very ripped off and disappointed because of the soaring ratings this place has. Do not let them take your money if it is under renovation.
  • I wouldn't call this a museum. It's more of a set piece from a student film about the Renaissance.
  • A little gem in a city that is filled with some many tourist attractions. Amazingly well done set up / interiors, and a great guide who spins a wonderful story that enhances the charm of this place. They offer an option to combine this with the ghost museum, although museum of alchemy is definitely the star of the two. Both are quite small, and at a 15 minute talking distance apart. They can both be covered within 1.5-2 hours max. Worth a visit, if you are looking for something different, something a tad esoteric.

Where to stay in Prague

As one of Europe’s main tourist destinations, Prague offers a selection of accommodations to match its popularity, from luxury hotels to very affordable hostels. For an authentic Prague experience, stay at one of the guesthouses or boutique hotels housed inside the city's historical buildings. You'll find many lodgings concentrated around the most popular sightseeing areas, such as the Old Town, the Lesser Town, and Prague Castle, but there are also a good number of them in other neighborhoods. The best way to make Prague feel like home is to rent a fully furnished apartment.
