  • Whenever walking in the early morning hours in the areas adjacent to the place of my "dislocation" (Hotel Ibis old town "), I can not deny myself the pleasure to photograph one of my favorite Gothic churches in Prague, which is located on a fairly quiet street Klimentská-Catholic Church of St. Clement (Kostel svatého Klimenta). I can't explain exactly what draws me here-perhaps the same aura of the relics of Saint brought in zamshelom the 9th century Cyril and Methodius from the distant Black Sea to Chersonesos. The name of the Saint, the sacral building portable plunges into reverential trembling because it is Clement I, Apostle of the seventy, fourth Bishop of Rome, one of the husbands the Apostle was one of the first Christian preachers in the territories then the northern Black Sea coast, giving the beginning of Kievan Rus-Russian lands foremothers. Originally on the site of the present Temple was erected a humble Romanesque church dating back to the year 1226. Specified, the temple was specially built for the needs of the German population of Prague, which by that time had already been done. Later, in the early 15th century in the appearance of the Church were made.

  • Went for 2017 Christmas morning service as visitors. Everyone made us feel incredibly welcome. Very nice, warm service. Also, as an aside, we were really impressed by the under-pew heating system!
  • Gorgeous Romanesque church with lovely Christmas morning mass.
  • I hope to visit in late August. Beautiful pics.
  • Interesting, but unfortunately enough missed Church between the Klimentskou and the Novomlýnskou Street in the new town are among the oldest sacral objects in Prague-Vyšehrad Castle probably goes along with the oldest church on the right bank of the Vltava River. It is the reason here, Additionally, you can combine a visit with a visit to the Novomlýnská water tower or the Postal Museum on a side street. The first written mention of it dates from the year 1226, but it is considered that it was founded around the year 1065 or even earlier. It is dedicated to St. Kliment, whose remains were brought to the Czech Slavic missionaries Constantin and Methodius. The original structure of the Church was Romanesque. In the years 1975-1981, large reconstruction, which were revealed and documented just Romanesque foundations of the Church. Interesting, but unfortunately, the rather neglected church between Klimentska and Novomlýnská Street in the New Town is one of the oldest sacral buildings in Prague-Probably is the oldest church on the right bank of the Vltava river Vysehrad along with. This is the reason to see this place, and it's visit can be combined with a visit to the Novomlýnská Water Tower or the post office museum in a side street. The first written mention of it dates back to 1226, but it is believed to have been founded around 1065 or even earlier. St. Kliment, whose remains were brought this Bohemia by the Slavonic missionaries Constantin and Methodius. The original structure of the church was Romanesque. • Very interesting, and the old church in the Centre of Prague is situated opposite the Postal Museum. According to the Church is actually called this whole street. The internal space of the Church, I unfortunately could not get locked.
