  • We had a guide who showed us tours away from the tourist crowds. So we ended up in Karlin. Old beautiful town houses, social housing, new and emerging companies. A very abwechlsungsreicher district. In the Middle Invalidovan, a huge building, with three rather dreary but a very beautiful page. Unfortunately, we could not visit the building. Invalidovna was built as accommodation for war veterans. According to the Guide, it was enutzt, E.g. Amadeus or doctor-Schiwago as a backdrop for movies. The trip was well worth it.

  • The theme of the disabled is not the tourist, IMHO. But it is with the subject of persons with disabilities, I had to "touch the edges of" the next visit to the Czech capital. Probably not many people know that in his time the last descendant of the Habsburgs (direct male line), part-time, King of Bohemia and Hungary, Charles VI to his Royal command in 1728 year gave the command to create the so-called wheel home on all major cities on the subordinate territory. Lest there be any misunderstanding-invalid at home in those years was not created for people whose opportunities for their personal life activity in society is limited due to physical, mental, sensory, or mental disabilities, and for more narrow their parts-namely for Veterans 956429 battles that were fought throughout the mother Europe. In Prague zakopjorshhikom create Invalides (in the image and likeness of Paris) became count Pietro Strozzi (unfortunately, some sane Info for this noble Chela I in njete on found). The aforementioned dignitary originally from Florence, judging by the assembled bit by bit was in his time dashing vojakoj not once wounded in various battles. The result of the reflection of the graph above the grave proportion of disabled soldiers was that in the year 1658 it was written Testament about the transfer of a significant part of its assets at the disposal of the Prague Archbishop for the construction of the shelter.

  • This massive building was constructed around 1730 as a home for disabled veterans. The north facing side has been restored, but the other sides still show their age. It was significantly damaged in the 2002 flood. Not open to the public as of January 2017. The state is trying to sell it off to a private developer. It has not been used for many years, except that film makers like to use the interior as a movie set.
  • Nice
  • A lot has improved but only from the outside. Otherwise unused and it is a pity ... rozhidně.

  • One of the oldest buildings in karlín, originally called as 1791. The Baroque building from the years 1731-1737 built as a shelter for war veterans, where still ruled the military discipline. Today's park was used for festivities, races, training ground, shooting ... but as a graveyard. The building later served as a Museum, archive. After the floods, the fate of the building is uncertain. Too bad, it would be a beautiful Centre of Karlín.
