Hunger Wall, Prague

(4.3/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
Originally intended to help defend Prague Castle and Mala Strana against attack, Hunger Wall stretches through Petrin Park from Strahov to Ujezd. It was built between 1360 and 1362 on the orders of Charles IV in a time of severe famine. Enjoy a stroll through the park along the length of the mighty wall, and admire the strength and history of this ancient fortification. The construction work helped provide a livelihood for the some of the city's poorest residents, hence the structure's unusual name. It underwent repairs in the 17th, 18th, and 20th centuries. • Moving spot with these statues tortured at the foot of PETRIN Hill representing the suffering of beings humans crushed by the machine... in the city of Kafka: him memory sticks of this face to face with inanimate objects that become the fellow human beings by the talent of the artist... • Small monument was away from the Center. It's very original. However I recommend to see the night. This becomes more mysterious. This monument shows the evils of communism.

  • Are passed by chance on the statues, some as anxiety. Actually it comes to Prague to enjoy its beauty, these statues are a contrast here! You don't have to go, but if one is nearby, you can watch it...

  • Perfect in every way. More of an apartment than hotel. All the service of a hotel but with a giant living room in addition to the bedroom and kitchenette. Close to tram stop. Away from the noise. Nice neighborhood feel. Great restaurants within a 2 block radius. I can't wait to go back to Prague for the Christmas markets and stay at Hunger Wall Residence!
