Nature / Park
Divoká Šárka is a nature reserve on the northwestern outskirts of Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic. It contains a gorge. It is named after the female warrior Šárka, who, according to mythology, threw herself to her death from its cliffs after betraying her lover Ctirad during the Maidens' War.It is the closest site to the city where the black woodpecker lives. There is a lake Džbán on the border of the Divoká Šárka reserve area and a public swimming pool located in the middle of the reserver. The water of the pool is supplied by clean and fresh water from the Šárka spring creek that passes through the park and the lake.Photo

Where to stay in Prague

As one of Europe’s main tourist destinations, Prague offers a selection of accommodations to match its popularity, from luxury hotels to very affordable hostels. For an authentic Prague experience, stay at one of the guesthouses or boutique hotels housed inside the city's historical buildings. You'll find many lodgings concentrated around the most popular sightseeing areas, such as the Old Town, the Lesser Town, and Prague Castle, but there are also a good number of them in other neighborhoods. The best way to make Prague feel like home is to rent a fully furnished apartment.

  • Great place for a walk with your dog, or jogging or picnic.
  • Nice park. Far away from the center. Could use drinking fountains and toilets though. I didn't see any.
  • Nice park with lots to offer. Go swimming in the lake or the pool or just hike around. Easily accessible by public transit and worth a visit.
  • An actual forrest, right in the city.
  • great considering closeness to the city
