  • Wandering through the southern suburbs of New space in Corso Apolinarskoj, I suddenly came across Luxembourg Embassy (which was a lot of surprised-ambassadorial area has long and strongly considered Prague 6-Bubenec in the area (Castle), where it is the bulk of the Embassy). Just across the road from the Luxembourg diplomatic mission I saw quite attractive (visually) and previously unknown to me the Catholic Church. As it turned out later, this rather unusual sacred building attracts our fellow-traveler, by chance caught in these neturisticheskih areas, perfectly well not only because it is in very narrow architectural circles arhitektonicheskimi is known for its neobchnostjami, but also because here in 1789, was opened first in Prague public maternity hospital. Catholic Church of St. Apollinaris stretches as though along the crest of the Hill in Prague, known as the "winds". Hence the name-Catholic Church of St. Apollinaris in Vetrove (kostel sv. Apolináře na Větrově). Researchers claim that this sacred building, built originally in Gothic style, was built on the site of a more ancient temple, dating back to the year 1376. In XVII-XVIII centuries the temple's façade was rebuilt in Baroque style. But a century later it returned again with little Gothic appearance. In the southwest corner of the temple complex stands the Bell Tower with a height of 42 meters, with a cross section of the grounds form a square. Bell, bearing the name "Appolinarij" and weighing about 200 pounds, is the only Bell, which today has a church (the rest were forcibly seized for defence purposes during the first world war). To my deep regret, the Church, built on a high Hill, so closely surrounded by neighbouring buildings that I'm 20 minutes without persuasion wandered around trying to choose some decent angle to photography. And what happened is to judge you, dear reader!

  • One of the oldest Prague places of worship from the time of Charles IV., which survived the Hussite spree thanks to the presence of the rectory and utraquist priests. Although the temple rebuilt mightily at the end of xix Mocker. century, it still has many of its glorious past. The temple is bright and spacious, it lies in him several valuable monuments, but the most precious is a vibrant community of young people and their families held two liberazione Communione and the nice young priests. The Church I attend. It is a beautiful piece of old Prague. In addition, the adoration each Thursday evening. The Church is definitely worth visiting, but outside of the Holy Mass. is not open.
