Military Museum
At Army Museum Zizkov, learn about the anticommunist resistance, the history of the Czechoslovak army between 1918 and 1939, and the persecution of the Czechoslovak soldiers after the coup in February 1948. The museum houses a large collection of military equipment and artifacts, including weapons, uniforms, banners, and the personal memorabilia of Czechoslovak presidents and leading army representatives. A section of the museum maps the period of World War II and the Czech resistance movement during the war. Discover how the assassination of German SS general Reinhard Heydrich played a major part in the Czech World War II history. The army isn't the only branch of the military represented here. You also can explore the Air Museum Kbely and Military Technical Museum Lešany. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Army Museum Zizkov by using our Prague itinerary builder.

  • This was an excellent free museum on the north side of Zizkov, which was perfect for me as I was staying nearby. I'm a huge military nerd so this was high on my list of things to see on my second visi...  more »
  • Easily accessible from station Florenc bus 133 or 207, is situated on a small hill in a former military building. Divided into 3 sectors (the path to follow is well marked) tells the two world wars and the Czech resistance (one part is dedicated to the operation Anthropoid). Very large is full of uniforms, weapons, memorabilia, models, photographs, reproductions, large numbers of objects. Closed on Mondays, admission free but can leave an offer (which we left again), visit duration longer than 2 hours. We loved it so much and, as the Museum of communism, highly recommended.
