Pilsner Urquell Brewery, Pilsen

4.6
#1 of 15 in Breweries in Czech Republic
Discover the birthplace of pilsner beer at Pilsner Urquell Brewery, located less than an hour southwest of Prague. Dating back to the 1840s, the brewery is the country's biggest exporter of domestically produced beer. Guided tours, the only way to enter the brewery, reveal the origins of the world-famous lager, produced for nearly 170 years using a recipe originally created by Bavarian master brewer Josef Groll. The tour offers you a chance to see the brewery's bottling plant and historical cellars, where you can taste unfiltered and unpasteurized pilsner beer poured from oak barrels. • Filtering should not apply for a beer tour. English tour told us. Brewery tour is always good. At last. I'm able to do a tasting a beer apiece. I watch the kids. The kids seemed to have given more adults going to Bessie. And she said, eating time short. Slowly drink... Name engraved pint glass I can buy

  • Pilseuneo factory tour is very informative and fun. you can tell the last pilseuneo past and present, to go into the sterilizer must not have to eat and drink it once ever seen pilseuneo unique taste. Just like when you go from Prague by train from the train station, close to subside. There are places selling memorabilia, there's nothing greatly coveted. English Guide to book on the Internet and see if I'm comfortable

  • The human being needs happiness. Instead of a 40 Man Group was great, we got a "private tour" our little 6-piece group. Our guide Olga was a very humorous and good guide, which shows us not only the brewery itself was still the one or other insider tip to Pilsen for us. We were informed in detail about the history and the production of beer. The whole tour was very modern in design and graphic. At the end, there was still a small tasting in the cellar beer. Very much recommended

  • Came today for the Tour and had a great time. We first had a meal at the brewery which was first class. We took both the Czech and English tours as we were a mixed group. Our guide was wonderful and explained everything clearly and in a friendly and interesting way. The cellar and ice room where our favourite places along with the tasting room surrounded by huge barrels. It was nice to learn the history of the brewery and also how their particular methods have helped produce one of the finest beers in the World. All in all the visit was tip top. 😊🍺.
  • Very interesting tour complete with a taste of unfiltered, unpasteurised beer. The guide was very good. I wouldn't say it's prepared for people with mobility problems. The pub inside the brewery area was very good too.
  • Walking onto the grounds of this place puts you on another planet. Everything is so new for being such an old brewery. All the updates keep the place looking clean but they didn't take away from the heritage. The tour was perfect. Through the bottling center and the new and old brewery houses. They guide was very informative. She answered all our questions and introduced us to how PU was made from the beginning until now.
  • Cool tour that combines the history of the brewery with the current beer making process. Our tour guide spoke very quietly and it seemed like she was new. Great tour overall though.
  • You would expect a little cheeseyness for an old brewery tour, but this is that and more. Very modern presentation of the brewing process, and an extensive look at all of it. The best part, they draw you a fresh glass of this outstanding beer right from a barrel in the cellar. Definitely worth your time. And check out the town as well, amazing architecture!
