Brewery
Discover the birthplace of pilsner beer at Pilsner Urquell Brewery, located less than an hour southwest of Prague. Dating back to the 1840s, the brewery is the country's biggest exporter of domestically produced beer. Guided tours, the only way to enter the brewery, reveal the origins of the world-famous lager, produced for nearly 170 years using a recipe originally created by Bavarian master brewer Josef Groll. The tour offers you a chance to see the brewery's bottling plant and historical cellars, where you can taste unfiltered and unpasteurized pilsner beer poured from oak barrels. Check online for tour options and reserve your tickets by phone or e-mail.
