  • On the initiative of Pope John Paul II. It was gradually built museum of large-scale religious art collection on the spot where he was murdered last Czech Přemyslid 1306, King Václav III. It is located in the Centre of the city, the complex of the former male Premyslid Castle not far from the Cathedral of Olomouc. We parked right on Wenceslas square in front of the gateway to the Museum. It was cloudy Sunday afternoon, entrance was free, yet the number of hlídajícího number of visitors was crossing the staff highly. We were losing in those areas, historical buildings and security guards followed by following the instructions in the individual sections of the Museum. First, they sent us to an exhibition called "the whisper of Angelic Wings, where it was possible to see a variety of paintings and sculptures, some of which were lent from other collections. We admired for example. the sculpture of Annunciation by Matthias Braun or several modern paintings and sculptures with this issue. Then they sent us to explore the magnificent Bishop's carriage from the 18. of the century. This was followed by the Treasury with a selection of liturgical objects from the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque periods. Then they sent us down to the archaeological findings and to the exhibition of Gothic art. In the exhibition the art of the high and late Gothic were wonderful examples of sculptures. Then we went to the second floor, where we rented a classic Castle slipper and we were able to admire an image collection that includes significant works by Italian, Dutch as well as the Central European provenance. The origin of this collection dates back to the 17. of the century. Interesting was the visit to the chapel of St. Barbara Church. It would probably like to tour with commentary. Visit to the Archbishop's palaces in Kromeriz and Olomouc liked more.
