  • Nepomuk Church is a unique site due to its interesting ultra symmetric architecture. It´s very minimalistic despite been built in a barocco style which was known for the difficult ornamentations. Phot...  more »

  • A beautiful church with a fascinating story behind it. Definitely worth the visit. You may not be able to get a guided tour in a foreign language (it depends who's working there that day) but you can still go inside and see it for yourself (with an admission fee).
  • Highly recommendet to visit Zelena Hora and closter buildnigs on the bottom of the hill. Exp the muzeum of new generation- cicters muzeum which even children found v interesting. Wonderfull example how with good idea and a bit of oryginal ssmples create sth interesting and modern. Very good understanding of st Bernard vision of christianity
  • Highly recommend to visit. The view from the hill is excellent. And it's worth every steps to visit the church.

  • St. John's pilgrimage to the abbey of Nepomukžďar was built near the very fruitful cooperation of the long, closed and two extraordinary people. The pulse was made by Vejmluvažďar Cistercian, the dean of the monastery, and he was the proof of lover John Nepomuk before he was beatification and after he was officially declared a saint. The preparation of the project dates back to late April to early August 1719 and was considered a direct response to the preservation of the Organization in the tomb of Nipochm in Vitus Cathedral in abbot on April 15, 1719. The design of the building is commissioned by the famous architect $day Blažej Santini-aichel who abbot Vejmluva allegedly presented his ideas to the new saints using symbols that are fully in line with the church's requirements: "The father proposed, the artist created". The architect then works according to the outline. Santini dealt with the project very independently, without any tradition of the shape of religious architecture; he only accepted contemporary views on the structure of the pilgrimage. The architect's melting of the abbot ´s idea of the church played by the main role of a star model, has become a very impressive modern form only to be appreciated, but not always. Friedrich Ratnitzky (Friedrich Radnitzky), a member of the Central Committee, called the Church "the mystical phenomenon of vision" in 1886. The project was soon completed, but it was nothing special for Santini. In addition, the abbot and architect have cooperated for many years, they are all semiotics experts, and have used a lot of Kabbalah teaching in the project. Santini was well aware of what Abbott wanted from him. The resulting architecture must therefore be positively influenced by an atmosphere of mutual understanding. The final shape of the building is not very different from the first design, and only a few changes have been made. Step-by-step translation
