Jan Becher Muzeum, Karlovy Vary
(4/5 based on 300 reviews on the web)
Taste the most famous Czech herbal liqueur and find out more about its history at Jan Becher Muzeum. In 1807, Jan Becher put together a secret recipe for the bittersweet liqueur, which is made from Karlsbad water and a mixture of local herbs and spices. Guided tours include a visit to the distillery and original cellars, time to view historical objects associated with the liqueur, and a tasting of Becherovka. See the Becher pipeline that connected the individual cellars, ancient barrels, and period bottles adorned with labels that have yellowed with age. Make Jan Becher Muzeum a centerpiece of your Karlovy Vary vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Karlovy Vary trip builder.

  • Excursions are conducted by different languages, so you can choose when to go. The excursion itself runs at a good pace, but this is actually rather a plus. I don't like walking from corner to corner. Time photo missing. Tasting exactly is not for everyone. For example, I was able to afford only one kind of three. The lover of liqueur. Go for the overall development costs!

  • Went to the shop at the Museum's November 28 closer to 16-0000! Seller brazenly deceived! Bought two glasses! She quickly wrapped them! We took the time and looked not at once! Glasses put other cheaper! and one barely a! damaged on all sides! Apparently this is the calculation that will not return! Shame for the Museum and shop!

  • An museum excursion duration of 45 min with Becherovka tasting and basement tour. All in all, ok. Would recomend after a nice lunch :)

  • Cute, aromatic, tasting provided, a fun and easy to follow documentary to watch at the end. Really small though. Definitely worth a visit.
  • Was very nice but unfortunately a bit short. The leadership itself has lasted only 15 minutes. You could see some things in the connection independently. Then was the tasting of 3 products, during a short film. It is interesting in any case and at a price of 120 crowns (about 5 euros), you can not complain.
