Historic Center of Cesky Krumlov, Cesky Krumlov

(4.9/5 based on 2,800+ reviews on the web)
A well-preserved example of a small central European medieval town, walkable Historic Center of Cesky Krumlov is one of the country's major tourist attractions, designated as a World Heritage Site. Hugging the banks of the Vltava River, the town spreads around a 13th-century castle that's famous for combining the finest elements of Gothic, Baroque, and Renaissance architecture. Neglected for many years during the Communist era, the town's rich architectural heritage received a much-needed facelift through a series of major restoration projects over the last two decades. The exquisitely restored old buildings lining the historical center's narrow streets now house trendy restaurants and classy hotels, augmenting the town's fairytale atmosphere with tourist-geared modern amenities. • I loved everything about Krumlov. It is a fairytale village. I could spend a week wondering the street and back alleys taking in breathtaking sights.
  • The center of Cesky Krumlov walks at a time. It is rather small, but very charming, quite striking buildings. It is entirely pedestrian, with streets of stone and some rather neglected areas, which adds authenticity. There are several places to eat and sleep and many shops for souvenirs, jewelry, crafts and crystals. There are times of the year with much tourism, mostly Asian, but in winter in the vicinity, as in the entire area, are closed.

  • Though the town is small, but very beautiful! Everyone who likes smaller and poujutnee here. Tourists in January was a wagon, though. So early in the spring and summer days with you. The city location and because of this you can find 4 lookouts from different angles accurately. Narrow streets, beautiful houses, lots of souvenir shops. I would like to point out that he was the only one of the cities we visited in early January 17, where everything still worked. And yet we were lucky with the weather and we were caught in the snow, thanks to this we have views of the city not with red roofs and white:) We found an interesting shop-there's all about music, everything related to music, various souvenirs and other things (e.g. the icon in the form of a guitar or violin). Is right before the bridge, if you go from the Castle, on the right side, it is necessary to climb to the second floor.
