Cesky Krumlov Castle, Cesky Krumlov
(4.6/5 based on 2,200+ reviews on the web)
Dominating the surrounding city from its location on a high rock promontory, Cesky Krumlov Castle is a medieval complex of about 40 buildings, situated around five courtyards and a vast park. Dating back to the middle of the 13th century, the complex covers a total area of about 7 hectares (17 acres). The castle's atmospheric storerooms house a collection of stone statues and sacred art, accrued over the centuries by the city's many rulers. You can stroll through the grounds on your own, but access to some of the interior sections is by guided tour only. Check the website for opening hours and available tour options before you make the trip. • Visiting Český Krumlov decided to visit Cesky Krumlov Castle. The castle was constructed in the rock. In front of the entrance to the main courtyard of the Castle moat and bears. Large area, gardens, Museum.

  • This city began to build in a meander of the River Vltava, i.e. a place of dream... The result was an elegant city with medieval streets paved (in some, with stones of different tones), with low houses in general (at most, a couple of floors), many with sgrafitto façade, beautiful bridges of stone or wood, you the margins of the river perfectly drawn, with curves and bends, small beach areas of stone, or abruptly cropped. With all this great framework are highlights, in the Hill, its castle, that is actually a small fortress. It was originally a Gothic Castle (XIII S), but it was remodelled in the S 14TH and again in the 16TH S, this being the most important that became it a Renaissance castle that we see today, with some changes in styles, Baroque and rococo. We toured both Castle dizzy, ending so many nooks and crannies, Torres, viewpoints, that you are left with the feeling that something you lose... Something that surprised me, is that you have painted walls imitating stone blocks and other drawings... originally would be so? The views of the city from here are must-see... postcards!

  • Too bad that has a lock in the winter open only a museum. A lot of tourists would be welcomed. It is a pity, when someone can not see.

  • This is the place that you should definitely go to snap the all time favourite photo that oversees the whole old town of cesky krumlov!
  • Beautiful castle with great view of the city. Access to the different castle areas is restricted and priced. There is a museum, and a few tours of the different castle areas. Recommend the castle tour is very interesting and informative.
  • Unbelievable scenery outside and inside of this Baroque castle, and the atmosphere is always festive. Don't forget to bring your camera and wear good walking shoes.
