Namesti Svobody, Brno

(4/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Watch the legends of the city come to life at Namesti Svobody, which is dotted with medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque buildings. Head to the top of the 63 m (207 ft) high tower of the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul for a view of the historical area. At the old town hall entrance, look for the town's well-known emblems: the Brno Dragon--the stuffed body of a crocodile that terrorized the citizens in the past--and a wagon wheel. Consider a stop at the capuchin crypt, then switch gears by picking up some fresh fruit or flowers at the cabbage market. Throughout the center, you'll find cafes, restaurants, and shops. Arrange your visit to Namesti Svobody and discover more family-friendly attractions in Brno using our Brno itinerary planner.

  • A large, but almost empty square virtually without a soul. Around one bank, clothing stores, mcdon's and. Then those meaningless "hours" and it is vladtně everything. In my place without a soul.

  • Very interesting full-of-everything Center. It's pretty diverse for a small town, with an irish pub in front of the main Church around a many food options as well, from KFC to traditional česki cousin...  more »
  • Disappointed not because of the square but, from our guide. The Agency provided us with this companion a little poor on a school trip. It was a lunch stop on a long tour and after lunch was planned around the Center. It was cold, it was the desire to share, brought us here saying it was the most important square of the city. bare and empty because of the time made it appear unappetizing. It did not provide any information, not even the astronomical clock that I wanted to look into. wrong us to trust.
