  • The home studio of Janacek, with his memorabilia, including the piano. It is a place to visit for those who know and love the music of this great modern composer. It is true that in recent decades the luck and knowledge of Janacek has greatly expanded, but much more needs to be done, especially in Italy, to spread the production of this great composer. It's kind of like it was in the years ' 50 the situation of Gustav Mahler and his teacher Bruckner: two composers ignored by musical audience and critics (they undervalued him, even calling them "followers"!). Do not miss also the birthplace of Janacek in Hukvaldy, in Moravia. Also saw a documentary, unfortunately not in Italian, but still quite understandable, especially in musical and theatrical productions to parts made by Czechs. Too bad the incomprehensibility of languages stand always in full knowledge of the theatre, especially in the field of Opera, where they rescue, lately, and fortunately, the subtitles. Purchased for 35 euros, an invaluable booklet packed with news on the composer and his works, in French (thankfully).
