  • Svata Hora is a large Marian Sanctuary (monastery) on a hill above Pribram. Not sure why one reviewer states it is usually closed, as their own leaflet says it is open 365 days of the year, 0545 until...  read more »
  • Very quiet place, quite a few pilgrims in comparison with other sanctuaries. On the spot waiting for us local guide speaking in Polish language (we were organized group). Please note, access is only from the East (GPS can be set at the intersection of roads Balbinova, Hajecka, Svatohorska Avenue). Parking available for cars and coaches. From the West lead covered stairs, which I recommend later come down from the sanctuary to the center of the city.

  • After a challenging repair is the holy mountain once again accessible and in full glory. You can arrive by car to the parking lot below the area and climb a few stairs or down the road a few hundred yards, or from the center of the stairs to the place (more demanding-343 steps!) Missing information for foreigners. Due to historical links with Italy, I would have expected at least a printed guide in Italian. Minus for the average tourist is the lack of decent restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the premises. Even in the Centre of the town on Saturday afternoon was not better (all closed). If you're driving in direction to Rožmitál, saves You Drmlovka.
