Paphos Harbour Castle, Paphos

3.1
At the edge of Paphos Seafront walkway, the robust, cube-shaped Paphos Harbour Castle served the Byzantine Empire, the Lusignans, the Ottomans, the Greeks, and the English. The medieval castle was rebuilt twice--once after an earthquake in 1222 and again at the end of the 16th century. It also served as a storage area for salt. Enter the castle by crossing an old bridge over a small pond, and then climb the stairs inside to reach the top. From here you'll get some of the best views of the seafront and the Mediterranean Sea. • This castle natknjotsja everyone who walks the streets of Paphos. Read many negative reviews (which is nothing special, etc) People you zaelis:) I would personally recommend visiting this castle and pay for entrance 1.5 euros. Nothing is straight outstanding there really isn't, but I as a fan on fotogravirovat ispolzal it lengthwise and crosswise)) Fun to touch the ancient architecture:) And I must say that at the top of the Castle offers a very nice view of the coastline. So my wife and I enjoyed it, despite the fact that there was a very strong wind. We were satisfied with. Recommend to visit this place and for photos especially:)

  • Very little to see from the inside. Just a courtyard with tiny cells on the side that are padlocked. No information or exhibits. Entrance is of €2.50 per adult. Visit won't last more than 5 minutes. By comparison you can go to the Paphos Archaeological park for €4.50 where you csn easily spend 4 to 5 hours and not even manage to see everything. I would not recommend travelling specifically to just visit this castle.
  • It was an interesting big empty structure, nothing but walls with some rooms with locked doors. Good views from the second floor for pictures of the harbour. Not a lot of information. But okay for€2.50
  • My 11 yr old son love it that he went 2 times yes it is small but very nice the staff were kind and very helpful. That he would love to go back next year the cafe were you get the icecreams were really good cant wait to go back. The only think that got to us is when your walking pass the other shops and eating places both felt like go away we had food like still telling us to go in we didnt like that.
  • Small but nice castle. Nice to see the fishing boats. Nice little cafes. But beware of the tourist shops there as they are expensive. This place is very typical and not that crowded which makes it a great day out if you're coming from limassol.
  • Lovely area for drinks or meals. Lovely castle set on a point giving nice views of surrounding sea
